Born and raised in NJ, Chris and his wife, Marion, started their Christian journey when they received Jesus Christ, got married, and headed out to Oregon to be discipled by his sister and brother-in-law. While there, Chris realized his call to ministry under Pastor Jon Courson at Applegate Christian Fellowship. After having four children (Tiffany, Kimberly, Megan, and Michael), and many relocations, God directed them back to NJ where they were a part of Calvary Chapel Old Bridge with Pastor Lloyd Pulley. After fulfilling various ministry roles, God called them to start a Bible Study in Toms River, which eventually grew into a church.
Calvary Chapel of Toms River started on April 17, 1994, in the McCarrick’s home, with the children's ministry meeting in the garage. Slowly the church grew and moved, and ultimately landed at its current location in Howell.
In September of 2020, he passed the mantle of Senior Pastor of the church to his son, Mike, to further the ministry of Cornerstone, and took to the road. Since then, he has been part of Poimen Ministries, where Chris continues to serve in pastoral ministry, encouraging and supporting pastors in various ways. He and his wife, Marion, have traveled around the world helping many churches and pastors. They still make their home base in New Jersey and are involved in their home church at Cornerstone Church.
From the onset of the calling of his life, God has burdened Pastor Chris to emphasize the teaching of the Word of God, along with a passion for world missions and a heart to help pastors.
